Chemical peels are one of the most effective ways to address each of these skin concerns. However, just as every person’s skin is different, there's no such thing as "one peel fits all". To be truly efficacious, each peel should be tailor-made to address your skin needs and should be strong enough to accelerate cell turnover without inducing unnecessary inflammation.

What is a Chemical Peel?

Promoting overall skin health is one of Dermalogica's core values. We also believe that regular resurfacing is crucial to accelerate cell turnover and renewal rates - so we opt for peels that are more frequent and less invasive rather than those that push the skin to the point of severe inflammation and possible scarring. Treats a wide variety of skin concerns including fine lines, dull skin, sun damage, large pores, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, acne & scaring. If you're looking for a way to get brighter & clearer and more youthful skin, then a Chemical Peel could be the answer you are looking for.

What are the benefits of Chemical Peels?

Benefits include but are not limited to: exfoliation, smoother, tighter, brighter, clearer, less pigmentation, improved skin tone and texture. How long does it take to see results? The results of a chemical peel can vary depending on the type and strength of the peel, as well as individual factors such as skin type and the specific skin concerns being addressed. In general, however, you may start to see some initial changes within a few days to a week after the treatment.

How long do the results last?

The duration of results from a chemical peel can vary depending on several factors, including the type and depth of the peel, the individual's skin type, and their skincare routine. Depending on the peel the results can last for a few weeks for superficial/light peels and up to several months to a year for medium depth peels. Long term results can be maintained with consistent treatments.

Does it hurt? Is there any downtime?

Most patients experience minimal to no discomfort. A warmth or tingling sensation maybe experienced. Yes, downtime after a chemical peel can vary depending on the type and strength of the peel, as well as individual skin sensitivity. Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments that involve applying a chemical solution to the skin to exfoliate and eventually peel off, revealing smoother and rejuvenated skin underneath. Downtime can be minimal and last several days to a week depending on the strength of the peel.

What are the risks and side effects?

Like any medical procedure, chemical peels come with potential side effects. The severity and occurrence of these side effects can vary depending on the type and strength of the chemical peel, as well as individual skin characteristics. Some possible side effects: redness, peeling & flaking, swelling, itching, dryness, hyperpigmentation, infection, scarring (keloid), sensitivity to sun light, herpes reactivation. It's important to note that the severity and duration of these side effects can vary, and most are temporary.

My skin is not peeling?!  Does this mean that the treatment did not work?

Absolutely not!! Depending on the skins resistance and treatment frequency, you may experience a delay in peeling or experience no peeling or flaking.

We also offer afa Peels ....

AFA skin peels, provide the dual benefits of exfoliation and antioxidants with minimal irritation compared to other intense skin care treatments. These peels can significantly improve skin texture, age spots, sun spots, and acne. Utilizing the power of amino acids, AFA Skin Peels help lock in moisture and protect the skin against sun damage. Most patients notice a visible improvement in their skin’s appearance very quickly, often within just a few days. This makes it an ideal peel solution for those with sensitive skin or Rosacea.

What Are AFAs?

AFA is an acronym that stands for Amino Acid Filaggrin Based Antioxidants. Filaggrin is a type of amino acid naturally produced in the upper layer of the skin to help preserve moisture content. AFA skin peels and skin care products help you to preserve your skin’s moisture content naturally, without the addition of any harsh or irritating chemicals. AFAs are non-photosensitizing and are the most effective at improving photo-pigmentation than any other skin care solution.

AFA Peel is an antioxidant face peel that harnesses the power of amino acids to make your skin look and feel moisturized and glowing. These treatments are done on a weekly or biweekly basis. AFA peels are also known as “The Bride Peel”. Gentle enough to give your skin that glow, the day of your Wedding! For the best results, it is recommended that you complete a series of 4-6 six treatments.

What Is An AFA Clay Peel?

The AFA Clay Peel™ is the optimal two-step treatment to significantly improve the appearance of your skin. This advanced skin care formula works best with skin types: combination, oily and acne-prone. Before applying the AFA Clay Peel™, your face will be thoroughly cleansed and dried to remove surface impurities and to prepare your skin for the first application of the AFA Mask.

Step One: The AFA Clay Mask is applied in a thin layer and left on for approximately 5 minutes, then gently removed  with water. The Mask draws impurities and opens up the pores in the skin. This prepares your skin to get the maximum benefits out of the peel step.

Step Two: The AFA Peel is applied to your face for 1-2 minutes, then rinsed off to reveal clearer and brighter skin.

AFA Clay Peel exfoliates and detoxes your skin gently unlike other peels. A series of 4-6 treatments is usually recommended to achieve significant improvements and optimum results. Using the AFA home care products between treatments will help these improvements occur more rapidly, and they can be used after the series of treatments to maintain the results.
