What is the Nordlys™ Light & Bright™ treatment?
The Nordlys™ Light & Bright™ uses the Non-Ablative Fractional Laser 1550™ and/or 1940™ along with Ellipse SWT IPL™using Selective Wave Band Technology (SWT®) and Dual Mode Filtering. This is a fractional non-ablative laser treatment with SoftCool for comfort, that penetrate the skin at different depths to encourage new collagen and elastin production. The Ellipse SWT IPL™ delivers precise light energy in specific wavelengths, selectively targeting various chromophores in the skin, such as melanin and hemoglobin. It is an award-winning device that provides dramatic results which decreases pigment, solar damage, brown spots, redness, facial vessels or veins, and rosacea and rejuvenates the skin's tone and texture diminishing fine lines, wrinkles, pores and scaring without damaging the upper skin surface. It allows deep treatment that ensures noticeable appearance changes immediately after the first session. We recommend 3 treatments.
What are the benefits?
Benefits include dramatic lightening of the skin’s pigmentation including freckles and age spots. It stimulates cellular turn over and the production of collagen and elastin which improves tone and texture and minimizes pores and acne scars. Can Nordlys™ Light & Bright™ be used on all Fitzpatrick Skin Types?
The Light & Bright is suitable for Fitzpatrick Skin Types 1 to 4 due to the use of the Ellipse IPL™. This treatment is Health Canada Approved.
How long does it take to see results & how long do they last?
The results of treatment are both immediate and progressive. Soon after the treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter and show more even tone. The next 3 to 6 months will bring more improvement as the deeper layers of the skin continue to heal.
Is there downtime?! What should I expect?
Yes there is. For the first 3 days your skin will look red and possibly swollen. It may appear dehydrated and become dry with a sand paper like feel. To keep the skin healthy during this period, you’ll want to stay hydrated and avoid itching. Within the first week, the redness and swelling should start to subside, though your skin may still be dry and flaky, breakouts may occur, please do not pick or pop. To aid the healing process you will need to use a gentle moisturizer to keep skin hydrated. Avoidance of exfoliants, physical & chemical, and any products that contain active ingredients (AHA, BHA, Retinol) for 7 days is important.
You may see darkening of spots and sloughing off of skin, your skin might be a little pink and flaky. You can cover this with a mineral make-up or a tinted SPF. The Dryness and flaking may last up to 4 weeks as cell renewal takes place and dead skin cells begin to sloughoff. After 4 weeks, once healed, dermaplaning is a great way to remove dead skin cells revealing rejuvenated skin. If you go outside, you’ll want to be careful about exposing your skin to the sun. Always wear your SPF and wear a wide-brimmed hat for ultimate protection.
