SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® helps the skin retain its natural moisture and softness leading to an improvement in the skin smoothness of the cheeks.

What is it?

SKINVIVE™ uses hyaluronic acid micro-droplets injected into the dermis layer to provide deep hydration.  There is no alteration in the shape or volume of your face.  It boosts healthy-looking skin with a long-lasting glow, enhancing your skin's internal hydration and water retention for up to 9 months.  Additionally, it improves skin texture for up to 6 months.

What are the benefits?

The benefits include overall enhanced glow, radiance, and plumpness. Research suggests it also stimulates collagen production, improves elasticity, decreases dullness, and reduces the appearance of fine lines.

What’s the difference between skin boosters like Skinvive and fillers?

Most fillers and skin boosters feature the same active ingredient, hyaluronic acid. However, traditional fillers change the shape of the face, while skin boosters improve its appearance This distinction is reflected in their formulation; hyaluronic acid fillers have a thicker consistency, which adds volume to the skin, whereas Skinvive has more of a water-like texture that boosts hydration in the skin.

Another important difference is the treatment area.  Fillers typically remain in the area where they are injected; for instance, the cheek volume won't change with lip injections.  In contrast, Skinvive's ultra-thin consistency allows it to distribute evenly across the epidermis, improving overall skin quality rather than targeting a specific area.

Does it hurt?  Is there downtime? How to see results?  How long does it last?

SKINVIVE™ injections contain 0.3% Lidocaine to reduce pain upon injection. The process involves delicate injections, with the majority of clients indicating only very slight discomfort.

It really depends on the individual patient. For many, there is little to no social downtime. There can be some mild injection-related swelling, redness and bruising that may be present but is usually temporary. Overall, there tends to be minimal downtime.

The duration of results can vary depending on individual factors, but generally, patients can expect the effects to last for about six to nine months.

Several factors influence the longevity so to preserve a refreshed appearance, many patients choose to schedule follow-up treatments as they notice the effects beginning to wane, ensuring a continued youthful and vibrant look.

What are the risks and side effects?

As with all hyaluronic acid injections, the most serious danger is vascular obstruction and necrosis. Even though the risks with these types of hyaluronic acid injections are minimal, they can’t be excluded.

Common side effects include redness, lumps/bumps, swelling, pain or tenderness.  You may have a little bruising or discomfort, but nothing that should impede your usual activities.  Simply avoid vigorous exercise, as well as exposure to the sun, heat, and alcohol, during the first 24 hours after injection to reduce the risk of bruising and swelling.
